Contador General – Full‑time – Guatemala

About the role

The General Accountant will be responsible for the complete accounting cycle of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with local regulations. This full‑time, onsite position is based in Naranjo, Guatemala.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Record daily accounting entries and perform bank reconciliations.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, monitoring cash flow.
• Ensure tax compliance, file declarations and control tax obligations.
• Oversee the monthly and yearly closing processes.
• Produce management reports, cost analyses and budget tracking.
• Apply accounting standards and internal policies consistently.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum two years of experience as a general accountant or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, bank reconciliations, AR/AP.
• Solid understanding of Guatemalan tax legislation and filing requirements.
• Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets and accounting software.
• Ability to analyse financial data and prepare clear management reports.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
