General Ledger Accounting Subject Matter Expert

About the role

We are seeking a General Ledger Accounting Subject Matter Expert to manage and improve our journal entry processes. The role involves preparing, reconciling, and analyzing a variety of financial entries while supporting month‑end close activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly credit‑card journal entries for the company and employees, map transactions to the correct GL accounts and departments, reconcile balances, and upload entries into NetSuite.
• Prepare weekly and monthly cash journal entries and reconcile general‑ledger balances to bank statements.
• Assist with month‑end close tasks related to cash, maintain and update procedural documentation, and ensure accurate journal entry posting.
• Generate data extracts and respond to ad‑hoc information requests from internal stakeholders.
• Analyze account fluctuations, provide explanations, and investigate root causes.

Required profile

• Solid experience in general‑ledger accounting or financial‑statement audit work.
• Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent professional experience.
• Fundamental understanding of accounting concepts such as the accounting equation, debits and credits, and the three primary financial statements.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency, including lookup functions, INDEX‑MATCH, and pivot tables.
• Experience working with NetSuite for journal entry processing.
• Ability to handle large data sets efficiently.
