Supplier Specialist (Third Party Management)

About the role

As a Supplier Coordinator (Supplier Specialist, Third Party Management Specialist) at Western Union, you will strengthen the global supplier ecosystem by managing and coordinating supplier relationships, performance and compliance across regions. The role ensures high service levels to internal stakeholders and external suppliers, with a strong customer-service orientation and familiarity with financial, contractual and currency-exchange concepts as an advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the supplier lifecycle: onboard new suppliers, keep records and profiles up to date, monitor contract renewals and ensure adherence to policies and contracts.
• Monitor, report and analyse supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, cost, responsiveness), identify issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Act as a service partner for internal stakeholders (procurement, operations, finance, quality, risk) and external suppliers, resolving issues and maintaining service standards.
• Work with global and regional teams on processes, documentation, SLAs, risk assessments and accounts-payable coordination.
• Maintain supplier databases, dashboards and vendor-management systems with accurate data and compliance documentation.
• Support the contract lifecycle: evaluate statements of work, review terms, track renewals and terminations, and liaise with legal and compliance teams.
• Support sourcing and procurement teams with supplier segmentation, market research, supply-base analysis and consolidation or alternative-supplier opportunities.
• Manage the supplier payment lifecycle: follow up payment requests, ensure approvals (timesheets, service-delivery verifications) are completed, validate payment terms (e.g. Net 30, Net 60), escalate overdue payments and liaise with accounts-payable and finance.
• Oversee payment compliance and process integrity, keeping a record of requests and approvals and working with accounts-payable on discrepancies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in supplier management, procurement, vendor coordination or a related role, preferably in a global or multi-regional environment.
• Customer-facing experience (internal or external) is mandatory.
• Experience with global teams or managing suppliers across multiple countries is strongly preferred.
• Fluent English required; Spanish strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Analytical mindset: interpreting supplier performance and cost metrics and presenting insights.
• Strong organization and coordination, able to work across geographies.
• Solid supplier/vendor management knowledge (onboarding, performance monitoring, contract and risk management).
• Risk and compliance awareness, cultural awareness in a multicultural environment.
• Preferred: experience in financial services or fintech, process-improvement methodologies, advanced Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) or BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), and multi-lingual skills.
