Técnico BOP

About the role

The BOP Technician leads, supervises and executes preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities for substations, transmission lines, plant facilities (buildings, electrical installations, emergency generators and other civil infrastructure). The role ensures equipment reliability, availability and safety in line with operational manuals and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, supervise and perform maintenance on substations, transmission lines, turbines and plant installations safely.
• Interrogate protection relays, meters and other electrical components to collect data on maneuvers, historical events and system quality, and generate event reports.
• Inspect subcontractor work and plant equipment to guarantee quality and prevent failures.
• Analyze and report failures in physical installations, transmission lines, substations, 34.5 kV cells and turbine transformers, providing relevant information for strategic decisions.
• Identify training needs for junior staff, develop and deliver technical training to close competency gaps.
• Contribute to the development and optimisation of maintenance plans to improve resource utilisation.

Required profile

• Technical electrical education (certified) or at least 10 years proven maintenance experience.
• Ability to make timely technical decisions and act safely during emergencies.
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to halt work when conditions are unsafe.
• Capability to communicate critical situations promptly to supervisors.
