Web Developer (Remote – Guatemala)

About the role

ChapinTech is looking for a Web Developer to join its remote team in Guatemala. You will work on an established educational platform used worldwide, focusing on core web technologies rather than heavy frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain features using HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript.
• Update UI through Razor views and direct DOM manipulation.
• Improve and maintain the existing web platform’s performance and responsiveness.
• Troubleshoot usability, layout, and performance issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with U.S.-based engineers and stakeholders to understand requirements and ship changes.

Required profile

• Solid, hands‑on experience with HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript (DOM manipulation).
• Comfortable building, running, and debugging code in a standard IDE such as Visual Studio Code.
• Ability to clearly explain how code works, whether written by you or an AI assistant.
• English proficiency (written and spoken) for effective communication with a U.S. team.
• Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
