About the role

The school seeks an enthusiastic AP Seminar and AP Research teacher to deliver the College Board curriculum to high‑school students in a bilingual, US‑accredited environment. The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing AP coursework while fostering critical thinking and research skills.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AP Seminar and AP Research lessons aligned with College Board standards.
• Guide students through independent research projects, including proposal development, data collection, and presentation.
• Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and prepare them for AP examinations.
• Collaborate with fellow faculty to integrate bilingual instruction and uphold the school’s academic excellence.
• Participate in school events, parent meetings, and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Native English speaker with a genuine appreciation for Guatemalan culture.
• Bachelor’s degree (Education preferred) and a valid teaching license (e.g., QTS, SACE, US state).
• Minimum 2 years of classroom teaching experience; IB curriculum experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
