About the role

The University of the Valley of Guatemala seeks a part‑time lecturer to teach Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Genetic Engineering courses. The role involves delivering both theoretical and practical sessions to undergraduate students, ensuring they acquire the necessary competencies.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned theoretical and laboratory classes for Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Genetic Engineering.
• Plan, organize, and execute learning activities in line with the course syllabus.
• Supervise laboratory practices, guaranteeing compliance with bio‑security and academic quality standards.
• Monitor student performance continuously and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Design, administer, and grade assessment instruments.
• Maintain up‑to‑date academic records (attendance, grades, reports).
• Coordinate with the academic department to ensure proper course delivery.
• Participate in academic meetings and support departmental promotion events.
• Be available for scheduled activities on Saturdays when required.

Required profile

• Academic background in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or related fields, preferably at the doctoral level.
• Experience in teaching undergraduate courses in the relevant subjects.
• Commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Molecular Biology.
