About the role
The Import and Export Logistics Executive will coordinate and facilitate national and international logistics processes for PIEGATTO, ensuring raw materials, supplies and finished furniture move efficiently, legally and profitably. The role works closely with Production, Warehouse, Administration, Sales, Management and external partners such as carriers, freight forwarders and customs agents.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate local furniture deliveries to customers, projects and showrooms, collaborating with pilots, warehouse, production and installation teams.
- Monitor inbound and outbound inventory movements in partnership with responsible staff.
- Quote, negotiate and select national and international transport and freight options, optimizing cost, time and reliability.
- Manage purchases and imports of raw materials and supplies, tracking purchase orders, shipments and arrival dates.
- Oversee export operations to international customers, following each shipment through to delivery.
- Prepare and review import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin and DUCA.
- Act as the operational liaison with customs agents, SAT, freight forwarders, shipping lines and carriers.
- Track tariff classification, taxes, insurance, permits and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain organized, up‑to‑date import and export files.
- Calculate logistics costs and landed costs for imported products and supplies.
- Anticipate delays, stock shortages or logistical issues and work with internal areas to resolve them.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities for time, cost and process efficiency.
- Provide weekly management reports on shipments, arrivals, exports, costs and incidents.
Required profile
- Technical degree or Bachelor’s in International Trade, Logistics, International Business or a related field.
- Minimum three years of experience in logistics, imports and exports.
- Hands‑on experience with SAT, DUCA, customs agents, freight forwarders and shipping lines.
- Intermediate to advanced English for international communication and negotiation.
Required skills
- Knowledge of INCOTERMS.
- Customs tariff classification.
- Maritime, air and land freight handling.
