About the role

Iberia Foods, the leading distributor of Caribbean and Hispanic foods in the United States, is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist based in Guatemala to support its U.S. operations. The specialist will manage the end‑to‑end AP process, ensuring accurate invoice recording, payment execution, and supplier reconciliations.

Key responsibilities

• Review, code, register, and process supplier invoices, securing required approvals and documentation.
• Validate accounting entries and match invoices to purchase orders and receipts.
• Coordinate timely payments to suppliers via ACH, transfers, checks, or other authorized methods.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, duplicates, price differences, and supplier escalations.
• Perform supplier reconciliations, monitor open items, and follow through to resolution.
• Support monthly and year‑end closing activities, including accruals and AP balance reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, segregation of duties, and financial data protection.
• Assist internal and external audits by providing required documentation and transaction traceability.
• Track AP performance indicators and propose automation or process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounting, or Finance, preferably covering the full AP cycle.
• Proven ability to handle high transaction volumes and resolve complex cases.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, segregation of duties, and AP policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office suite.
