About the role

The Compliance and Capacity‑Strengthening Specialist will ensure that implementing partners adhere to CRS and donor policies, contracts, and procedures while supporting institutional capacity development. Based in Quetzaltenango, the role involves regular field travel to project territories in Ixcán, Huista and San Marcos.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor institutional compliance by verifying the correct application of administrative, financial and operational policies.
• Conduct field visits to review processes, improve internal controls and assess risk of fraud, corruption and conflicts of interest.
• Identify, evaluate and propose preventive or corrective measures for compliance risks.
• Support partners in managing sub‑recipient agreements, subcontracting and contractual obligations.
• Apply organizational diagnostic tools to assess partner capacity.
• Develop and implement capacity‑building plans in coordination with finance, procurement, security, safeguarding and HR units.
• Facilitate workshops, trainings and ongoing technical assistance for continuous improvement.
• Provide operational support for project administration, finance, procurement and logistics, ensuring adherence to CRS procedures.

Required profile

• Experience in compliance monitoring, contract management and donor regulations.
• Proven ability to conduct field assessments and risk analyses.
• Background in capacity‑building or institutional development.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the project region.
