Housekeeping Manager – Guest Experience Leader

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional and memorable guest experience through impeccable cleanliness and visual standards onboard. This senior hospitality leader oversees all housekeeping operations, ensures compliance with safety and brand standards, and drives continuous improvement across the department.

Key responsibilities

• Own the overall guest experience related to cabin and public area cleanliness, ensuring premium service delivery.
• Lead, train, and develop housekeeping supervisors and crew, maintaining a strong floor presence and fostering a positive work environment.
• Manage budgeting, inventory, cost containment, and procurement of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, environmental standards, USPH guidelines, and Royal Caribbean brand standards.
• Handle disciplinary actions, performance coaching, and resolve guest or employee issues diplomatically.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years progressive housekeeping managerial experience, preferably in an upscale hotel, resort, or cruise ship.
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical handling, safety procedures, and housekeeping operations.
• Experience with talent assessment, leadership development, and HR policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with company software such as SQM, OCIMS, Fidelio, LGA, Medallia, and Kronos.
