About the role

The Industrial Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical projects for the implementation and expansion of biomanufacturing plants. This role is responsible for the design, specification, execution, and commissioning of industrial systems and equipment while ensuring compliance with technical, sanitary, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering projects for biotech and pharmaceutical plant implementation and expansion.
• Design and specify mechanical equipment such as tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, valves, and piping networks.
• Develop and review technical documentation including isometrics, data sheets, specifications, and material lists.
• Manage the mechanical scope from conceptual engineering through commissioning and start‑up.
• Coordinate suppliers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to meet schedule, cost, and quality targets.
• Supervise installation, assembly, commissioning, and start‑up activities.
• Ensure adherence to applicable technical, sanitary, and safety standards.
• Participate in validation, risk analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in mechanical projects within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, or chemical industries.
• Proven track record in plant implementation from design to commissioning.
• Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, API 650/620, ASME‑BPE, and EHEDG standards.
• Experience designing and specifying process equipment, tanks, and piping systems.
