About the role

We are looking for a Customs Operations Manager to lead and optimise end‑to‑end customs activities for DHL in Guatemala City. The role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency and high‑quality service for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and optimise the full customs operation from entry to exit.
• Ensure compliance with Guatemalan customs legislation, internal procedures and corporate standards.
• Meet service level agreements, operational KPIs and quality objectives.
• Develop and manage high‑performing internal teams and external providers.
• Monitor supplier performance and oversee strategic partnerships.
• Track key performance indicators, identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct regular visits to customs points to verify processes, controls and regulations.
• Handle incidents, risks and escalations, coordinating efficient solutions with clients, suppliers and internal areas.
• Guarantee document traceability and fulfil audit and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience leading customs operations and managing teams.
• Strong knowledge of Guatemalan customs legislation and processes.
• Familiarity with the 29‑89 customs regime in Guatemala.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, planning and decision‑making abilities.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a drive for results and continuous improvement.
