Medical Assistant – Palencia

About the role

Under the direction of the Supervising Clinical Provider, the Medical Assistant delivers direct patient care both in the clinic and at patients' homes. The role supports clinical staff by preparing exam rooms, performing basic diagnostics, and ensuring smooth office operations.

Key responsibilities

• Interview and triage patients, recording vital signs and medical history.
• Prepare and maintain clean, well‑stocked examination rooms.
• Perform diagnostic tests such as EKG, glucose, INR, urinalysis, and rapid strep.
• Administer injections, IV treatments, and draw blood for labs.
• Process prescriptions, manage pharmacy communications, and handle refill requests.
• Assist front‑office duties including phone coverage, chart filing, and appointment scheduling.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and place orders as needed.

Required profile

• Active RN, LPN, Paramedic, EMT, or RMA license.
• BLS certification (BMO preferred).
• Ability to manage emotional situations with patients and families.
• At least one year of back‑office experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality.
