About the role
As TopDog Law expands nationally, the People Operations function must grow alongside it. We are looking for a People Operations Generalist based in Guatemala to own the employee experience, manage the full lifecycle, ensure compliance with Guatemalan labor law, and provide backup payroll support.
Key responsibilities
- Administer employee onboarding, labor contracts, off‑boarding, and time‑cards for the Guatemala team.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions on policy, benefits, and workplace matters.
- Maintain full compliance with the Guatemala Labor Code across hiring, working hours, termination, and pay practices.
- Manage legally mandated benefits such as Aguinaldo, Bono 14, IGSS, and vacation.
- Keep personnel files and records in line with statutory requirements.
- Partner with U.S. People Operations to ensure alignment and consistent processes across locations.
- Identify process gaps, improve workflows, and build scalable systems as the company grows.
- Act as secondary payroll administrator to guarantee accurate, on‑time payroll runs.
- Support culture initiatives, employee engagement events, and internal communications that strengthen connection and collaboration.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Human Resources or People Operations, preferably in a fast‑paced or scaling organization.
- Strong working knowledge of the Guatemala Labor Code and Ministry of Labor compliance requirements.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
- Detail‑oriented, highly organized, and able to handle confidential employee data with discretion.
- Genuine passion for people operations and desire to grow with a rapidly expanding company.
