Piloto-Mensajero

About the role

The university seeks a reliable Piloto‑Mensajero to transport students, faculty and staff safely on urban routes and inter‑departmental trips across Guatemala. The role combines driving, vehicle care and logistical coordination for academic field practices and institutional events.

Key responsibilities

• Drive university buses on city streets and national highways, complying with traffic laws.
• Perform daily pre‑operational inspections (fuel, oil, tires, brakes, safety systems).
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and security.
• Manage travel resources such as fuel receipts, toll payments and per‑diems, and submit transparent expense reports.
• Record mileage logs and coordinate maintenance with authorized workshops.
• Plan and adjust routes in collaboration with professors or group leaders.
• Occasionally handle messenger deliveries.

Required profile

• Valid Type A or professional driver’s license for passenger buses.
• Minimum three years of proven bus‑driving experience.
• Extensive knowledge of Guatemala City and major national routes.
• Full availability, including weekends and overnight stays when required by the academic calendar.
• Excellent interpersonal attitude toward students, staff and external users.
