Procurement Team Leader (Guatemala)

About the role

The Procurement Team Leader will coordinate purchasing activities in Guatemala, ensuring that all procurement records are up‑to‑date and compliant with company policies, government regulations, and contractor requirements. This role combines strategic sourcing, supplier management, and team leadership to drive cost savings and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and directly supervise the purchasing staff, providing guidance for major negotiations.
• Distribute incoming pricing requirements and approve procurement of materials, equipment, and services in line with TELUS International policies.
• Organise workflow to keep the business office running efficiently.
• Resolve complex supplier performance issues and pursue remedies when needed.
• Follow up with vendors to ensure timely shipments and meet audit requirements.
• Collaborate with the Senior Procurement Manager to develop purchasing strategies, increase category spend under management, and qualify new sources of supply.
• Stay informed about emerging industry trends and technologies.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Flexibility to work on‑site or remotely (mandatory).
• Graduated in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of purchasing experience.
• Proficiency in English at B2 level (oral and written).

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Workday or a similar ERP system.
