Senior Category Buyer – Food Retail

About the role

We are seeking a data‑driven Senior Category Buyer to lead strategic sourcing for a fast‑casual dining and retail chain in Guatemala. The role focuses on perishables, cold‑chain and high‑rotation FMCG categories, ensuring continuous supply of high‑quality products.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end local and international procurement processes for perishables and FMCG items.
• Utilise ERP systems and data dashboards to analyse demand, optimise inventory and drive cost‑effective decisions.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate with global suppliers, representing the company at international trade shows.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to maintain supply continuity and profitability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
• 5–8 years of strategic sourcing experience in retail, food service or FMCG, with a focus on perishables.
• Full professional proficiency in English for international negotiations and travel.

Required skills

• Strong command of ERP platforms such as Dynamics 365 and SAP.
• Proficiency with analytical tools including Power BI and Advanced Excel.
