Software Engineer

About the role

Join Tigo’s technology team as a Software Engineer and help build the digital solutions that connect people, improve lives, and strengthen communities across Guatemala. You will work on a variety of projects, from creating new APIs to automating testing pipelines, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications, APIs, and pipelines based on user stories and requirements.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications.
• Create scalable software architecture and ensure efficient design.
• Write clean, readable code using appropriate programming languages and frameworks.
• Develop and execute unit and acceptance test automation scripts.
• Perform extensive testing, debug issues, and deliver reliable functionality.
• Maintain and enhance existing software, applying bug fixes and updates.
• Collaborate closely with developers, testers, and product owners to achieve project goals.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and produce technical documentation.
• Meet agreed deadlines and delivery schedules.

Required profile

• Strong analytical ability to understand and convert business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience designing efficient, scalable software systems.
• Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable code.
