Trader de Commodities

About the role

The Commodity Trader will lead risk management and hedging strategies for commodities and currencies that directly affect the company’s financial results. Using market intelligence, quantitative analysis, and derivatives operations, the role protects margins, maximizes opportunities, and supports strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze national and international commodity, currency, and energy markets to identify risks, trends, and business opportunities.
• Design hedging strategies that safeguard margins against price and exchange‑rate volatility.
• Execute derivative transactions, including futures and OTC contracts, in line with corporate risk policies.
• Prepare executive reports and market analyses for the Commercial Management, General Management, and Board of Directors.
• Coordinate with commercial and operational teams to plan physical volumes to be covered, ensuring proper risk exposure management.
• Monitor financial risk indicators, policy compliance, and the effectiveness of implemented hedges.
• Develop budgets and financial forecasts related to assigned commodities, assessing the economic impact of executed strategies.
• Maintain strategic relationships with brokers, traders, financial information providers, and key internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in risk management, hedging, and trading of commodities or financial derivatives.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Strategic thinking, strong analytical abilities, and decisive decision‑making in high‑pressure environments.
