Software Engineer (Database) – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer specialized in database engine internals to join our remote team. You will design, develop, and optimize high‑performance storage and retrieval systems that power large‑scale applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine core engine components, including storage engines and query‑optimization logic.
• Implement robust concurrency control using Multi‑Version Concurrency Control (MVCC).
• Design and maintain data‑persistence layers such as Write‑Ahead Logging (WAL) and B‑tree/LSM‑tree structures.
• Engineer distributed data systems by building and optimizing replication protocols.
• Enhance the database’s ability to handle complex SQL semantics and manage low‑level resources.
• Collaborate with systems architects to improve performance, scalability, and reliability.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience focused on database engine internals.
• Strong systems‑programming skills in C, C++ or Rust.
• Deep understanding of storage engine internals, MVCC, replication, WAL, and SQL semantics.
• Proven expertise in query optimization and low‑level resource management.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
