About the role

Grupo LAFISE Guatemala is seeking a General Accountant to ensure the robustness, integrity, and regulatory compliance of its financial operations. The role is pivotal for delivering accurate financial and fiscal information that supports strategic decision‑making in a dynamic regional organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the monthly and annual accounting close processes.
• Prepare and present precise financial statements in accordance with local and international standards.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable tax and fiscal obligations.
• Respond to internal and external audit requests and regulatory inquiries.
• Analyze budget variances and provide technical reports for senior management.
• Manage, develop, and optimize the performance of the accounting team.

Required profile

• University degree in Public Accounting and Auditing (CPA) with active professional registration.
• Proven experience as a General Accountant or in a supervisory accounting role within the financial or banking sector.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Guatemalan tax legislation, and banking regulations.
