Senior Sanity & Next.js Developer (Remote, LATAM)

About the role

We are looking for a senior developer to join our remote team in LATAM and help accelerate a large migration from Umbraco to Sanity, as well as continue feature development on existing Sanity‑powered Next.js sites. The work is contract‑based, deadline‑driven, and will be performed alongside our staff engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Sanity schemas, including document types, objects, references and Studio configuration.
• Build Next.js front‑ends that consume those schemas using GROQ queries, caching and on‑demand revalidation.
• Create and run migration pipelines that extract content from legacy CMS platforms and load it into Sanity, handling HTML‑to‑Portable Text conversion.
• Maintain redirect maps and support large‑scale content migrations.
• Translate Figma designs into production‑ready, responsive, accessible components.
• Leverage AI coding agents to scaffold components, generate schemas and automate repetitive tasks.
• Set up project conventions and prompt files that make AI assistance reusable for the team.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies and client‑facing technical discussions.

Required profile

• Proven production experience with Sanity schema design and Studio configuration.
• Strong expertise in Next.js (App Router, server components, modern data‑fetching patterns).
• Solid TypeScript and React skills.
• Hands‑on experience migrating content from legacy systems such as WordPress, Drupal, Umbraco, Craft or Contentful.
• Ability to write reusable ETL scripts and make them idempotent.
• Comfort reading Figma files and implementing designs without exhaustive specifications.
• Clear written communication and comfort working asynchronously with remote teams.
