Accounting Assistant (Auxiliar Contable)

About the role

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support our finance team in processing supplier payments, payroll and related documentation. The role is based in Guatemala City and contributes to the smooth operation of our aviation and culinary services across the Caribbean and Latin America.

Key responsibilities

• Issue and record checks or electronic transfers for supplier payments, ensuring each transaction is backed by proper purchase and receipt documentation.
• Verify that invoices comply with tax regulations and that required withholdings are applied according to the supplier’s tax regime.
• Prepare payroll checks and other employee‑related payments as authorized by Human Resources.
• Process advance payments to suppliers, apply appropriate withholdings, and maintain a register of advances until they are settled.
• Maintain orderly, chronological filing of all payment documents and provide them promptly for internal or external audits.
• Track and document the delivery of checks to third parties, recording responsible persons and accompanying paperwork.
