About the role

BLINTECH, S.A. is seeking a General Accountant to lead the accounting, financial, and tax functions of the company. The professional will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with local regulations, and provide reliable information for management decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual accounting closures.
• Prepare, analyze and present financial statements.
• Supervise and validate bank reconciliations for all company accounts.
• Oversee accounts receivable, ensuring reasonableness and recoverability of balances.
• Control inventory accounting for raw materials and spare parts.
• Manage fixed assets, including acquisitions, disposals, depreciation and reconciliations.
• Supervise accounts payable, guaranteeing timely and accurate invoice recording.
• Prepare payroll, including IGSS payments and ISR accounting.
• Handle the full tax cycle: calculation, review and filing of tax returns.
• Respond to SAT audits and follow up on tax requirements.
• Analyze accounting entries, identify inconsistencies and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards and Guatemalan tax legislation.
• Provide timely financial information to management for decision‑making.
• Coordinate and supervise the accounting team.

Required profile

• Active CPA (Contador Público y Auditor) license.
• Proven experience as a General Accountant or in a similar senior role.
• Strong background in closing processes and financial statement preparation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Guatemalan tax legislation and SAT filing requirements.
• Experience with bank reconciliations, receivables, payables, inventory and fixed assets.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Proficiency with accounting systems.
