About the role
The Litigation Assistant provides essential support to the legal team, handling a variety of tasks that keep case files organized and ensure smooth court processes. This entry‑level position works closely with the Office Manager or designated supervisor within a fast‑paced legal operations environment.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and update electronic case files and collection‑software records.
- Answer occasional court system phone calls and relay information.
- Assist in preparing trial and hearing folders, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Process incoming mail daily, ensuring accurate entry into the tracking system.
- Scan, copy, print, and redact legal documents as required.
- Perform additional duties assigned by management.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or paralegal coursework preferred.
- 1‑3 years of experience with legal terminology or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
- Results‑driven, customer‑focused attitude with reliable on‑site attendance.
- Physical ability to sit for extended periods, lift up to 25 lb, and navigate office spaces.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
