Product Owner & Agility Lead

About the role

Tigo is looking for a Product Owner and Agility Lead in Guatemala City. The role represents commercial interests in the development of products or projects within a technological framework, communicates clearly between stakeholders and the development team, and leads product development so that customer and business needs are met and sustainable products are created.

Key responsibilities

• Own the backlog of new functionalities and changes, from conception and design to publication in a productive environment.
• Define and prioritize the product backlog from Epic level down to granular tasks, assign them to the development team and define acceptance criteria.
• Take decisions on priorities and collaborate with stakeholders and commercial representatives on product design.
• Participate in sprint planning, define and monitor each requirement, and clarify doubts with the development team.
• Develop user stories and requirements, evaluate the product, and take part in product demonstrations.
• Maintain a coherent product vision, update the strategic roadmap continuously, and report progress to all stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Master's preferred).
• 2 years of experience taking requirements and writing user stories according to agile frameworks.
• 3 years of experience in an iterative/agile software development lifecycle.
• 2 years of experience with DevOps and Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to work with both technical and non-technical people.

Required skills

• Knowledge of APIs and web services, including their design standards.
• Knowledge of CMS such as Drupal and WordPress.
• Knowledge of Node.js, PHP and Java.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as Cassandra and Couchbase.
• Web and mobile-based solutions, operating system and virtualization administration experience.
