Senior de Auditoría Externa

About the role

BDO Guatemala is seeking a Senior External Auditor to lead audit engagements for its clients. The professional will coordinate the audit team, ensure compliance with firm standards, and support strategic initiatives that enhance client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and guide audit assistants throughout fieldwork.
• Ensure audit deliverables meet BDO’s quality standards and IFRS/IAS requirements.
• Identify key client personnel and prioritize audit tasks.
• Assess team workload capacity and prepare commercial proposals.
• Keep partners and managers informed of client needs and project status.

Required profile

• Degree in Public Accounting or Auditing.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in external audit, with at least 1 year as a senior.
• Proficiency in IFRS and IAS standards.
• English level A2 or higher.
• Experience leading audit teams and preparing proposals.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Commerce or Auditing is a plus.
