Senior Expense Accountant – U.S. GAAP Expertise

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Expense Accountant with solid experience in expense accounting and month‑end close under U.S. GAAP. In this role you will ensure accurate, timely, and complete accounting of company expenses while supporting the integrity of our financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post expense‑related journal entries, accruals, and adjustments during the monthly close.
• Perform account reconciliations, expense analysis, and investigate significant budget‑to‑actual variances.
• Validate expense classification, accounting treatment, and proper period, department, and GL account allocation.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, FP&A, Payroll, Procurement, and other stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
• Support internal and external audits and maintain comprehensive accounting documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification highly desirable.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including expense accounting, general ledger, accruals, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting principles.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with NetSuite.
• Familiarity with Claude AI for process improvement and automation.
• Proficiency in expense accounting and month‑end close procedures under U.S. GAAP.
