Skip Tracer – Collections Specialist

About the role

The Specialist – Skip Tracer reports to the Senior Manager – Collections (or designee) and is responsible for locating assets and contact information for consumers who are past due on financial obligations. The role involves daily communication with third parties, prioritizing accounts, and meeting daily locating targets while complying with applicable laws.

Key responsibilities

• Communicates with third parties to obtain relevant consumer information.
• Evaluates account hierarchies to prioritize work effort.
• Meets daily goals for locating consumers or pertinent information.
• Adheres to quality standards and ensures compliance with laws governing third‑party collections.
• Participates in other activities as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with 1‑2 years of collections or debt‑resolution experience (preferred).
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 lb as described in the physical requirements.

Required skills

• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong typing skills.
